FAQ's
Q. Why so many shears?
A. Vern Shears wants to change the way hair is cut and eliminate the limitations hairstylists have with traditional shears. With more than one pair in your hand at the same time, you can texturize and thin hair in less time, with smoother, cleaner results. Because you use fewer clicks (5 clicks as opposed to 30-40 clicks) to texturize there is less abuse to your tendons, reducing the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Q. I hear a lot of talk about Vern’s patented L-Shaped Tooth Invention. What is this?
A. This invention enables two blades to open and close smoothly with the space between the two teeth being large enough so that the blades from each pair of scissors do not cross over each other. Normal wear and tear is minimized and the life of scissors is extended. The L-shape controls the width and size of each tooth, which determines the amount of hair being cut. Via precise calculation, we have come up with three types of texturizing scissors specialized for thin, medium and thick hair volume. The L-shaped tooth invention is also used in two types of styling scissors, which creates volume and keeps the hairstyle in good shape for a longer time.
Q. Aren’t Vern Shears expensive compared to other hair cutting shears?
A. No, they are not expensive. Vern Shears are very competitively priced. Our competitor’s prices average $300 to $ 1400.00 per pair. The basic set of 8 Vern Shears, including the salon carrying bag is $ 2240.00 – that’s just $280 per pair. Although we encourage you to buy the set of 8, the shears are available for purchase by the pair. You can add on to your set as you are ready. Financing is available.
Q. Are all of the shears the same length? What is that length?
A. Yes, all shears in the set are the same length. Total length is 5.6 inches (142mm). This length was found to be applicable in large and small cutting actions. The design of length has been precisely calculated according to the arms force and torque effects so as to make them very comfortable for hairstylists to use. The handles are also all the same length, allowing hairstylists to easily perform various kinds of cutting techniques and achieving precise angles.
